Apparently the producers behind the new Superman movie (Superman Returns) listened a lot to the fans while making the film. The plan was to make sure that their version of Superman didn't deviate too much from fan expectations. And what better way to make sure than to use the web?
The producers made an arrangement with the independent Superman fan-site www.bluetights.net to back up their servers and provide movie blogging tools for site users. This also proved useful in the marketing of the film:
"It has been a great relationship for us, because the fans have a lot to say. If you look at their comments and the homemade trailers they make and post on the site they have carried the torch for this film far longer than we have," says Chris Lee, Executive Producer on the movie to Fast Company.
